To address the evolving challenges in the field of cybersecurity, the "STEVE: Security Testing & Verification" workshop will take place from September 4th to 6th, 2023, at "Beckmanns Hof" at Ruhr-Universität Bochum.
STEVE stands for "Security Testing & Verification" and is a workshop designed for young researchers who are passionate about the intricacies of security testing and verification. The workshop covers a wide range of critical topics such as crypto implementation, physical attacks, secure testing methods, and security through machine learning.
Encouraging Future Cybersecurity Experts
The rapidly advancing digitalization has brought many conveniences but also unprecedented security challenges. Cyberattacks are becoming increasingly sophisticated and pose a serious threat to sensitive data and critical infrastructures. To effectively address these threats, academic research plays a crucial role in developing innovative solutions. STEVE aims to empower Early Career Researchers (ECRs) to advance the future of cybersecurity research. With new perspectives and innovative ideas, ECRs should be able to confront current and emerging challenges in this field. This workshop provides them with the support and resources they need to shine in their research efforts and educate the next generation of cybersecurity experts.
STEVE is supported by the Excellence Cluster "CASA - Cyber Security in the Age of Large-Scale Adversaries," the German-Israeli Foundation for Scientific Research and Development, and the Bochum Wirtschaftsentwicklung.
