Equal Opportunities & Diversity

CASA is committed to fostering an inclusive environment that values and respects the perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences of all. CASA welcomes and fosters all dimensions of diversity, including gender, socioeconomic background, ethnic origin, skin color, sexual orientation, religion, and/or mental or physical ability. By promoting equity and diversity, we aim to create a community where everyone can thrive and contribute meaningfully.

CASA specifically seeks to encourage and support talented female scientists to pursue careers in cybersecurity and enable a work-life balance. Therefore, CASA allocates specific funds for equity measures of which the Equal Opportunity & Diversity Board decides upon autonomously. The Board consist of 5 members and is voted by the CASA scientific staff.

Women in IT Security Series

IT security plays an important role in all areas of society. As the digital and physical worlds become increasingly interconnected, new challenges and questions continually arise. Just as diverse as these challenges are the career opportunities available. With our series "Women in IT Security," we aim to showcase the variety of paths and opportunities in IT security—especially for women—and introduce you to inspiring women with different research focuses who work with us.

Gender Sensitive Communication within CASA

Equal opportunities are an essential part of the Cluster of Excellence "CASA - Cyber Security in the Age of Large-Scale Adversaries". Outstanding science can only arise if we have an open culture and a way of thinking that goes beyond the boundaries of gender assignments. This is not only expressed in funding measures and collegial cooperation, but also in the way we communicate. Within our Cluster of Excellence we have thus agreed on various linguistic techniques to enable gender-sensitive communication.
