At the Cluster of Excellence CASA, scientists from various disciplines are working intensively on the many facets of IT security research. With our public outreach projects, we would like to provide a new, creative and innovative perspective on these often complex research topics. They are intended to build a bridge between science and society and create the space for public discourse on current developments.

In our news, we also report on the latest research results on cybersecurity, publications and activities of the Cluster of Excellence and offer space for the exchange of information on exciting research topics and the establishment of valuable contacts in the scientific community within the framework of various events.

An Art-Science Residency - by CASA in collaboration with STATE

What happens when art meets IT security? What can the two disciplines learn from each other? How do they enrich each other? And how can a work of art evolve from this?
Within the framework of the artist residency, our researchers had an intensive exchange with the media artist Marco Barotti. The result is the artwork APES, an artistic-scientific examination of digital evolution and the topics of IT security, data consumption, surveillance capitalism, disinformation and energy demand.
