Remarkable people and a supportive environment are at the core of every successful research project. The new video series 'CASA Stories' highlights this connection by offering insights into the day-to-day work of the Principal Investigators (PIs) within the cluster of excellence.
Life and Work within the Cluster of Excellence
The series follows the researchers as they pursue their individual ambitions, showcase their research approaches, and share their core beliefs. Each video introduces a different personality, celebrating their unique backgrounds and the diverse perspectives that shape CASA.
With ‘CASA Stories’, we want to show interested early career researchers the possibilities and opportunities offered by scientific work within a Cluster of Excellence and how researchers benefit from the extensive resources and network at CASA.
First episode with CASA PI Yixin Zou
In the first episode of the series, CASA PI Yixin Zou takes us into her everyday life. Yixin Zou, who is also a tenure-track faculty member at the Max Planck Institute for Security and Privacy (MPI-SP), heads the "Human-Centered Security and Privacy" research group there. Her research covers the areas of human-computer interaction, data protection and security. Within the CASA Cluster of Excellence, her work is located within Research Hub D - "Usability" – which investigates the special role of users in IT security. About her experiences in the CASA Cluster of Excellence she says in the video: „So, what I really like about CASA is the hub division. I can learn a lot from the people within my own hub on usability, but CASA also heavily encourages us to do cross-hub collaborations.“
Preview of the upcoming episode: CASA PI Gregor Leander
The second episode of the series follows CASA PI Gregor Leander (Professor of Symmetric Cryptography). It will be published in the coming weeks.
